Pekema Projects on the Road: Trunk Table

On a recent visit to my parents' I got to help them with a couple projects. The first was turning this old trunk into a little coffee table.

Before I arrived, my mom applied several coats of stain/finish to some legs she bought.

The biggest challenge of the project was making the legs sit flush on the bottom of the trunk since there were little feet on each corner that were in the way.

Our solution was to bore out an area on the top of the legs that the feet could sit inside.

Once that was done, it was just a matter of screwing down through the bottom of the trunk into the legs. That left us with a cute little coffee table.
