My parents' second child, my older brother, was also born at home but the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and he aspirated amniotic fluid and subsequently passed. My father then insisted that any children in the future should be born in a hospital. Good thing too because I also had the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck and came out blue. I swallowed amniotic fluid and was kept in an incubator until I was well enough to go home. My two younger brothers also had their umbilical cords wrapped around their necks. I'm glad you went with your gut and decided to induce. That must have been a horrifying experience that words really can't accurately express. Congrats to you both! Hope is a little fighter.
